Bryan García-Rolón was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He started in music at the age of 7 with Emilio "Perico" Sánchez in Trujillo Alto. When he was 11 years old he was accepted at the Escuela Libre de Música de San Juan (Free School of Music of San Juan) where he began his flute studies with Iván Mariani. There he studied solfege and music theory with Hector Luis Marcano, Sonia Morales, Ibis Torres, Beverly Morel and Harry Archilla. He studied Wind Ensemble with Hector Pantoja, Symphony Orchestra with Fermín Segarra and Chamber Music with Iván Mariani. After 6 years at the Escuela Libre de Música de San Juan, he graduated with a High School Music Diploma. While he was at the Escuela Libre de Música, he was at the Centro de Adiestramiento de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Training Center) and after 5 years he graduated with a Fine Arts Diploma. He participated two summers in "Berkley in Puerto Rico" with the professors from Berkley College of Music. There he studied Latin Jazz Ensemble with Eguie Catrillo, Jazz Theory and Jazz Ensemble with Jeff Galindo and later performed at the Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Fest 2005. That same summer, just a month before a trip with the Ballet Folclórico de Puerto Rico, (Puerto Rico Folkloric Ballet) he had an accident where he lost half of his right index finger.
